Many times when we go to negotiate
media for a dealer we have already had an established
relationship with that media through our other clients.
This brings more dollars to the table than just the
individual dealer's money. When you can bring more
money to the table then there is usually room to negotiate
and that is what we do very well.
In most cases, Calypso is able to get
significant discounts or increase a dealers advertising
exposure for the same money. In fact, that is how we
make our money. We get the media to pay for our
commissions through the negotiations so the dealer doesn't
have to. A dealer will not pay more money than they
are already paying to use our services. We include our
fees in the discounted rates.
We also use other winning strategies
like buying local media through national rep firms and
corporate headquarters that local dealers and agencies do
not have access to. Calypso goes to the source to get
our dealers the best deals whether it is national, regional
or local.

Here is an example
to help you understand:
Dealer A has a $100
rate per ad on the radio station. Calypso comes in to
negotiate on the dealers behalf with the station and says we
appreciate that you want $100 for the ad however because of
our other clients in this market and the research that we
have conducted, that $100 ad is really only worth $50.
So we give you the dealer the ad at a discounted rate that
includes our fees. Our pricing varies depending on the
market and the negotiated rate. Regardless, the dealer
wins because they will never pay more than they were already
paying That is part of our NO LOSE POLICY.
What
is our No Lose Policy? The no lose policy simply
means that we would rather shake hands and part as friends
than give you a deal that you are not happy with. We
will only take you on as a client IF we can help you 1) Buy
at a less expensive rate on your media purchase (at least
15% and up to 50% off) than you are currently paying, or 2)
Buy more audience with the same budget (typically 35% to 45%
increase) or 3) Both (buy less expensively and with greater
exposure.
If we are unable to
help you in any of those areas then we simply let you the
client know of the situation and let you decide if you would
still like to use our services. Often, we are chosen
anyway because of the potential timesavings we represent by
